Project Description
Port of Fujairah is the only multi-purpose port on the Eastern seaboard of the United Arab Emirates, approximately 70 nautical miles from the Straits of Hormuz. Initial Construction of the Port started in 1978 as part of the economic development of the UAE. Full operations commenced in 1983. Since then the Port has embarked on a continuing process of enhancement to both its facilities and its comprehensive range of functions.
To cater for shore based oil storage facilities both current and planned, the Port of Fujairah has invested in state of the art oil terminal berths and top side facilities. The Port had developed Oil Terminal 1 (OT1) comprising 3 marine loading berths, Oil Terminal 2 (OT2) comprising 4 marine loading berths, and Matrix Manifold connecting the different tank terminal projects. To cater for the increasing demand arising from the growing storage capacity in Fujairah, the Port is developing the second phase of OT2 and Matrix Manifold 2. This project should raise the overall through-put capacity of the Port of Fujairah and contribute to the growth of Fujairah as the largest oil hub in the region.
The OT2 Phase II project will include the construction of two additional marine loading berths (8 & 9).
