Project Description
Port of Fujairah is the only multi-purpose port on the Eastern seaboard of the United Arab Emirates, approximately 70 nautical miles from the Straits of Hormuz. Initial Construction of the Port started in 1978 as part of the economic development of the UAE. Full operations commenced in 1983. Since then the Port has embarked on a continuing process of enhancement to both its facilities and its comprehensive range of functions.
Further to the development of the Oil Terminal 1 (OT1), in order to cater for shore based oil storage facilities both current and planned, the Port of Fujairah is investing the development of Oil Terminal 2 (OT2) comprising 4 additional marine loading berths and the topside facilities. The project will also include Matrix Manifold, which will serve the connecting point of the Port with the nearby storage tank terminals and facilitate various operations including shore-to-shore, ship-to-shore, shore-to-ship and inter-terminal product transfer. The OT2 berths will have a draft of 18 m, comprise a total of 32 loading arms and cater for a total throughput of 25 million tons/year.
